Creating teams is easy with the Franchise System.  In many cases, each season of your league will have the same teams.  For instance, every NHL Season, the Blackhawks, Red Wings and Penguins are always teams.  Instead of recreating those teams every season, you simply create a franchise -- name the team, select the colors, select the logo.   Then each season you select the franchise to base the team off of and it will create the team with that name, those colors and that logo with no work from you.

Creating a franchise:  A basic team stamp.  

1. From the Admin area click the menu item League > Franchise
2. Click the Add Franchises Item Button in the top right corner
3. Fill in the form
4. Click the Submit Franchise Button

Your franchise is created!  You will now be able to create a team in a snap for any season that franchise will take part in.

Franchise Form Fields:

Team Logo: The logo of the team can be set here.  This allows players to quickly identify their team.

Full Team Name: The full name of the Team.  i.e. Chicago Blackhawks

Short Team Name:  The short name or nickname of the team i.e. Blackhawks

Team Abbreviation:  A very short name for use when space is very limited. i.e. Hawks or CHI

Dark Color:  Set the dark color of the team.  Used to set the colors of the team page.

Light Color:  Set the light color of the team.  Used to set the colors of the team page.

Team URL:  If the team has an external page you can set that link here.

Update Teams:  Select any previously generated teams to update changes to.  Finally got a team logo?  Apply it to all past teams at once.

Creating a Team

Once you have your franchises set up creating teams is easy.  If you don't have a franchise set up for one of your teams, just click the "I don't have a franchise for this team yet!" Link. 

1. From the Admin area click the menu item League > Teams
2. Click the Add Teams Item Button in the top right corner
3. Select the Season you want to add teams for
4. Select all the teams you want to create from the Franchise Box.  Hold down the CTRL key to select all your teams at once.
5. Click the Submit Teams Button

All your teams have been generated for your season.  Now it's time to move on to Step 4 - Populating Rosters or you can skip ahead to Step 5 - Schedule Games
